Sash & Belle is my passion and I love working on and in my business but I also have a day job in the public service so I feel like I am always busy, stressed and anxious so I must look after myself or I may crumble in a heap. Here are my 5 tips for looking after yourself.
- Take some ME time
Do what you love, whether that is reading a book, going for a walk, going to the movies or having a massage. I am sure you have many items on your to-do list and if you are a Mum there is always something you will need to be doing for the kids or they are asking you to do. Be selfish just for a little bit on a regular basis, you will enjoy it and your family will thank you for being calmer and happy. My favourite ME time is to go for a massage….BLISS
- Stop judging yourself or others
There are things we would all like to change about ourselves, so if you are not going to stop eating that burger or you don’t get off your butt and go exercise, then take all that energy and do the things you want and can achieve, plus don’t waste your time and energy on judging others, focus on yourself and how you can be a good Mum, wife, friend etc…I haven’t perfected this one yet but I am trying.
- Cross an item off your to do list
Cross an item off your to do list that has been there for a long time. Once the feeling of it always lurking there in the back of your mind is gone, you will be surprised how good you will feel.
- Go cloud watching
Go cloud watching or walk barefoot on the grass or beach, smell the flowers…….breath. As little as a minute of mindfulness and awareness is rewarding. We are so busy that we forget to slow down and just BE. I love to lie down and look at the clouds and the birds flying around so free and in summer I love to float in water, so calming.
- Get out of your comfort zone
Is there something you have always wanted to do but were too scared or embarrassed to do it. Maybe it is dancing or sky diving, you will never know until you have a go. Make the time and it may be just the thing you have been looking for.
