Why oh why do the days feel like they fly by? I swear they never did when I was a kid in the 80’s. I really think we have made our lives so much busier! So unless we make a conscious decision to slow down, I have pulled together my top organisational tips for getting more done in a day.
- Wear comfortable shoes
Wear comfortable shoes, if you have a day where you will be running around a lot doing errands or even at work, nothing will slow you down like an uncomfortable pair of high heels! I’m less likely to sit down if I’ve got comfy shoes on.
- Group Tasks
Try and group all similar tasks together. Bulk cut up food and cook in one go so that you only have to clean and wash up once. Once of the best tips I ever heard is to always cook a double batch so you can eat one and freeze or use it for lunches. Do all computer related activities in one session. Pay all bills at once. Find tasks with a common theme and try and do them in one go.
- Use The Commute
If you commute to work (or even just around town doing errands). Use the commute to make phone calls (with a hands free of course). It’s more productive to wait on hold for a long time in the car than at home.
- Stick to Task
Try not to get sidetracked by doing things you hadn’t planned and that are off task. Stick to what you set out to do.
- Write a to-do list
To-do lists help keep you on track and make sure you don’t forget anything. Try writing a list the night before and you’ll probably find you are more productive and sleep better.
- Arm yourself with a Sash & Belle handbag, we design for purpose and function. Don’t let yourself down with an inferior bag, you need a Sash & Belle laptop handbag to support you throughout your busy day.
